Canal Park Bike Route

I don't want to abuse my break pads so I'm going to look for a gently sloping way to get to the Lake Walk and eventually to Canal Park. Here's the route I am going to try:

Start at W St. Marie near the UMD Campus
-continue on W St. Marie and cross Woodland Ave.
-W St. Marie becomes E. St. Marie
-cross Bruce St. and Vermillion St.
-E St. Marie becomes Congdon Park Dr
-continue on Congdon and cross E. Superior St and Greysolon Rd
-Congdon Park Dr becomes S 32nd Ave
-R on London Rd
-Look for entrance to Lake Walk on right

Biking to Canal Park seems to be a "must" thing to try. I hope though that I find a route to the place that doesn't have heavy traffic.
